Club Meets

Good mountains. Good company.

Join fellow members for days out, shared experiences and new adventures.

Get out there together

Our regular club meets are one of the best ways to experience MCNW.

Throughout the year we organise meets in North Wales and occasionally further afield, giving members the opportunity to get together and enjoy a day in the mountains.

A meet might be a mountain walk, a challenging ridge, a scramble, a climbing day or simply an opportunity to explore somewhere new.

A typical club day

There’s no single formula for an MCNW meet.

The route and activity will depend on the weather, conditions, the time of year and who’s taking part.

Some days might involve an early start and a long mountain route. Others might be shorter and more relaxed. What they all have in common is getting outdoors and enjoying the mountains together.

Where appropriate, members may split into smaller groups according to their interests and abilities.

More than just the mountains

Club meets aren’t only about the activity itself.

For many members, the social side is just as important. A day in the hills is often followed by a drink, meal or evening at the hut, giving everyone the chance to catch up and get to know each other.

It’s one of the things that makes a club different from simply going for a walk on your own.

New members are welcome

If you’re considering joining MCNW, coming along to a meet is a great way to find out what we’re like.

You don’t need to know everyone beforehand and you don’t need to be an expert mountaineer. You’ll find members with a wide range of experience and interests.

We do, however, expect everyone taking part in mountain activities to have the appropriate experience, fitness, equipment and understanding of the risks involved.

Come and join us. The mountains are waiting.
